As a Library Aide, you will support the daily operations of the library by assisting students and staff, organizing materials, maintaining the library's physical and digital resources, and promoting a positive learning environment.

Responsibilities:
Assist students and staff:
- Provide friendly and professional assistance to students and staff in locating and accessing library resources.
- Offer guidance in using library equipment, such as computers, printers, and photocopiers.
- Answer basic reference questions and direct users to appropriate resources or personnel for more in-depth assistance.
Shelving and organizing materials:
- Sort and shelve books, magazines, and other library materials in accordance with the library's classification system.
- Ensure materials are neatly arranged, making it easy for users to locate items.
- Maintain the overall cleanliness and orderliness of the library shelves and reading areas.
Check-in and check-out materials:
- Assist with the circulation of library materials by checking books in and out for students and staff.
- Use the library's automated system to update records and manage loan transactions accurately.
- Collect overdue materials and notify users of outstanding items as per library policies.
Cataloging and processing:
- Support the cataloging and processing of new materials, including books, DVDs, and other resources.
- Apply appropriate labels, barcodes, and security measures to ensure the efficient management and security of library items.
- Maintain accurate records of acquisitions, withdrawals, and inventory updates.
Maintain digital resources:
- Assist with the management and organization of the library's digital resources, including online databases, e-books, and educational software.
- Provide technical support to students and staff accessing digital resources, such as troubleshooting login issues or guiding users through research platforms.
Assist with library programs and events:
- Collaborate with the librarian in planning and implementing library programs, such as book clubs, author visits, and reading challenges.
- Help with set-up, promotion, and logistical support for library events and displays.
- Participate in school-wide initiatives to promote reading and literacy.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
Illinois Substitute Licensure preferred.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Proficient computer skills and familiarity with library management systems.
- Basic knowledge of library principles and procedures.
- A passion for literature, education, and working with high school students.
- Attention to detail and accuracy in handling library materials.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
- Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and multitask effectively.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
